The US Department of Defense has awarded Warsaw-based Zimmer with a maximum $65,642,304 modification. The deal exercises the third option period on a one-year base contract. There are a total of five 1-year periods for orthopedic hip, knee, spine and extremity trauma implant procedural packages.
A year ago today, the US Department of Defense announced it would enter into the second option period with a maximum $69,239,944 modification.
The contract states that the company has agreed upon a fixed-price with economic-price-adjustment, indefinite-delivery and indefinite-quantity agreement with the Department of Defense. The contract’s performance completion date is set at March 24, 2015. The contract will be utilized by the Army, Navy, Air Force and marine Corps.
