Jeremy Hughes says his daughter has run away from home before, “But I’m just not sure what to think this time. Before there were always clues. I’m afraid something bad might have happened this time.”

Missing since 6:30 p.m. Saturday from her grandparents home in Burket, Jordan Hughes, 16, seemingly just vanished without a trace. “She asked her grandparents if she could walk down the street to her cousin’s house and she never made it,” said Jeremy.

Somewhere along the less than a half-mile journey, Jordan disappeared. No one is even sure what route she took — either down an alley or along the railroad tracks. “If she went down the alley there are a lot of houses,” Jeremy said. “If she went down the tracks, it’s possible no one would’ve seen her.”

Jordan, who had been staying with her grandparents in Burket to escape the “wrong crowd” she had been associating with in Warsaw, was seemingly headed down the right road. According to Jeremy, his daughter was doing excellent in school and was following the rules set by her grandparents. He said Jordan gave no indications that she was unhappy or upset.

In fact, Jordan, who goes by the nickname Tate, even left her computer on and logged in to her Facebook account. Her iPod and tablet were also left on in her room, and a cell phone was left behind.

Jordan2Jordan left her grandparents home wearing only jeans, a long-sleeve shirt and a jacket or hooded sweatshirt. She is 5’9″ and weighs 90 pounds. According to Jeremy, his daughter has brown eyes and dyed black hair that falls just below her ears. She has no tattoos or piercings.

A police report filed by Jordan’s grandfather, and confirmation from Jeremy, says the Tippecanoe Valley High School freshman was communicating with a 21-year-old Michael Wagner via Facebook. Since she disappeared, however, Wagner has not responded to messages sent to him through Jordan’s account.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jordan Tyler Marie Hughes should call the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department at 574-267-5667.
