In preparation for the forecast of 5 inches to 8 inches of accumulating snow, combined with winds of 15 mph to 25 mph and gusts to 30 mph that will result in blowing and drifting, the Marshall County Board of Commissioners have implemented an emergency declaration that includes a “Warning Level” travel advisory.
Kosciusko County and Whitley County commissioners have issued advisories, meaning routine travel may be difficult or restricted and caution should be used.
The emergency declaration went into effect at 7 p.m. Tuesday in order to give citizens, schools, businesses and other organizations an opportunity to implement their emergency plans.
Currently the travel advisory is for the unincorporated areas of the county, and the town of Culver. Road conditions will be evaluated early in the morning on Wednesday to determine what, if any, action should be taken.
For your safety, Marshall County is asking all citizens to comply with the necessary emergency measures, and to cooperate fully with public officials.
Please do not try to drive on roads that are drifted and impassable.
