Construction for the Rambler Park Pavilion, located at 202 S. High St., Silver Lake, will begin next week and a groundbreaking was held yesterday to commemorate the project.
The project, which will take approximately 45 days to complete, is funded by a grant from the Kosciusko County Community Foundation as well as donations from area organizations. According to Silver Lake Clerk-Treasurer Tonya Conley, the Dr. Howard and Helen Liebengood Endowment, held at the Community Foundation of Wabash County, generously matched the grant amount and donations from the Silver Lake Lion’s Club, Lake Township and the Silver Lake Youth League.
Conley noted the pavilion will be equipped with restrooms, a youth league concession stand as well as a covered picnic area. The pavilion, like the park and black top also located in Rambler Park, will follow a red, white and blue color scheme.
“We want guests to have the amenities they need to be able to enjoy the park and the activities held here and provide spaces for family gatherings, church outings and youth activities. It’s been a process to get to where we are today but we are so excited for the outcome and the convenience that this will bring while using the park.”
Conley stated Hohman Excavating and D-T Construction have been hired to excavate and complete the construction of the project.
