A former Warsaw mother got some disheartening news today about her missing teenage daughter. (See related)
Carrie Brissette, the mother of 15-year-old Veronica Brissette, said she came to Warsaw looking for her daughter based on information that police had pinged the teen’s cell phone to two towers in Kosciusko County. Sunday night, Brissette told StaceyPageOnline.com, “The police had been pinging the wrong phone number.”
She added, “The real last known ping was Friday, Jan 3, at 10:23 p.m. in Chicago on I-90 Southbound near Anthony or East End Avenue (by the Skyway).”
Veronica and her boyfriend, Josh Coman, 17, allegedly stole Brissette’s vehicle from her home in Brookfield, Wis., on Jan. 2. Authorities were able to track the vehicle by an iPass that was in the car. That noted the vehicle was traveling through Chicago and onto the Indiana Toll Road early Friday.
Brissette noted that a tip came to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department from Knox where a caller reported she thought she had waited on the teenagers Saturday at lunchtime, but she did not call the tip in until late Saturday evening.
“We now know they had less than $200 and were headed somewhere warm, possibly Phoenix, Ariz., or California,” Brissette said. “We are all very worried considering the last neighborhood they were near, the road conditions and temperatures. This is a mother’s worst nightmare!”
The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and the Brookfield Police Department are both working on locating the missing teens. The teens are believed to be in a 2005 black Toyota Camry with a Wisconsin license plate of 855SJH. If seen, call local police at 574-267-5667 or Brookfield Police at 262-387-3702.
