A 19-year-old former Leesburg woman died from injuries sustained in a Friday morning crash in Marshall County.
According to local family members, Madelyn Stephenson, of Granger, died from her injuries sustained in the crash that happened around 11 a.m. Friday on U.S. 31 near 7B Road north of Plymouth.
Police said Stephenson was southbound on the highway and, for an unknown reason, turned into the path of semi that was also southbound in the passing lane of the highway. Stephenson was the daughter of Jason Stephenson of Milford and Pam Smith of Granger.
Plymouth Fire and EMS extricated the teen from the vehicle and she was flown to Memorial Hospital in South Bend by Med Flight.
The driver of the semi, Brock Sanders of South Bend, was not injured.
