ELKHART, Ind. – Investigators in Elkhart County are searching for a suspect of an alleged sexual assault that happened more than five months ago.
On Oct. 2, 2013, at approximately 7:05 a.m., Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to the 52000 block of Brookstream Circle in Elkhart to investigate the reported sexual assault of a 50-year-old female. The alleged suspect is a black male in his late 20’s to early 30’s.
According to the ECSD, the incident occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. in the victim’s apartment after the suspect entered the residence. The suspect stole a cellular telephone, keys and cash and left the residence on foot.
Investigators who have been following up on leads on this case since October are seeking information on the man described as black, 6 foot tall, skinny or thin build, late 20’s to early 30’s. The suspect had a scraggily goatee and short hair at the time. With the assistance of an Indiana State Police sketch artist, a composite sketch of the suspect was completed.
