DNR Seeking Identity Of Hospitalized Man

Indiana Conservation Officers are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who was rescued by the South Bend Fire Department from the St. Joseph River at approximately 6:20 p.m. this evening.

Rescue personnel responded to the Darden Road area near the river on reports of a male subject in the river. The unidentified victim is a Caucasian male, approximately 5’11”, 220 pounds and thought to be in his mid 50’s. He has hazel eyes, salt and pepper colored hair and has a mustache.

The man was wearing black cargo pants, a blue jacket, brown size 10 ½ Merrell shoes and was wearing a medical bracelet. The medical bracelet listed him as taking Coumadin, with an O positive blood type and suffering from a tape allergy.

The victim was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend and is listed in critical condition at this time.
