The Kosciusko County Commissioners had a number of items to address at its May 19 meeting.
County Administrator Ron Robinson brought a few issues before the commissioners. He reported that the one of the domestic water boilers in the justice building was down and another will need replacing in the near future.
Robinson presented a quote of $67,500 for replacements. The commissioners approved the request.
Robinson also reported that radio equipment used by Kosciusko County Dispatch is 16 years old and reached the end of its life expectancy and would need replacing. Robinson recommended replacing hardware and software on a three year lease agreement. The commissioners approved.
The Warsaw Community Development Corporation requested to make a small patio area behind the cannon statue on the courthouse lawn. WCDC plans to put some picnic tables a make a nice public space. WCDC would be paying for the work. The commissioners approved.
County Auditor Michelle Puckett issued the annual congressional school district report. The report results in funding being distributed to area schools. The report was approved.
During the Area Plan Commission portion of the meeting, the commissioners approved the vacation of a 30 by 70 plat near Hoffman Lake on Lake Breeze Drive in the Lake Breeze addition. The purpose of the vacation is to relocate property lines in the addition. The vacation was approved.
County Attorney Chad Miner revisited an issue that was brought up several meetings ago. The county took possession of a property located at 8993 Epworth Forest Road, North Webster. There are several buildings that need to be demolished and some property that needs to be hauled away.
Miner reported that the county is in the process of getting the property ready for auction, and the purchaser of the property would have to clean up the property before obtaining the deed.
