Groups
The library is the place to explore during Monday’s story time. Children meet at the Syracuse Library to take a tour the of the building and hear some library stories. They will meet the people who do different jobs when the tour begins at 10:30 a.m. April 20.
Young adults will talk about censorship at the book club meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The book, “Fahrenheit 451,” gives several examples of censorship, including book burning, that gives rise to social stress. Teens can share examples of times when they feel it is difficult to share thoughts and opinions. The discussion is open to all young people in sixth through 12th grades and food is provided.
Adults are reading “The Chocolate Mouse Trap” in preparation for the last Food from Fiction book club meeting. Michigan author JoAnna Carl has set the scene for several murders around the area of Holland, Mich., with the main characters owning a successful chocolatery. The group will be visiting the Olympia Candy Kitchen for the April 30 meeting.
