At approximately 7:30 p.m. March 11, information was received by the Plymouth Police Department regarding the location of runaway, Alyssa Tapia, 14 years old, of Plymouth.
This information indicated that she was at a residence in Houston area. The information was forwarded to the Harris County Sheriff’s Department and Alyssa Tapia and Rigoberto Calix Reyes, a Plymouth High School student, were located there a short time later. Alyssa Tapia is being held there awaiting transportation back to Plymouth. Rigoberto Calix Reyes is being held there pending extradition to Plymouth.
Tapia was reported as a runaway by siblings on March 6.
According to WSBT, Reyes has been charged with sexual misconduct with a minor, forgery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The sexual misconduct charge is a felony charge.
WSBT reports that investigators and family members of Tapia state she is pregnant according to a post she put on Facebook recently. Tapia reportedly met with Reyes utilizing a computer provided by her school. Officials reportedly believe Reyes is at least 21 and is enrolled in high school utilizing forged documents. WSBT notes two birth certificates indicting varying ages have been uncovered by police for Reyes.
