Members from the Tippecanoe Valley Future Farmers of America visited the State House Jan.27 in Indianapolis. This trip was sponsored by the Kosciusko County Farm Bureau, with Orville M. Haney, Akron, organizing the events for the day.
The tour consisted of discussions with legislative members on the process of legislative ventures. The FFA members met with Randy Head, Republican member of the Indiana Senate, 18th District and Curt Nisley, Republican member District 22, House of Representatives, and discussed issues that are relevant to our agricultural endeavors and educational settings, including property taxes, rural bandwidth and how it affects school performance outcomes, deer farming and irrigation regulations.
