UPDATE: The truck was driven by William Stacy of Whittemore, Iowa. Stacy thought that he could make it under a bridge but his trailer was too large. He stated that he did not see the 13 foot clearance sign at the south side of the bridge. The truck was carrying Soda Ash to be delivered to Warsaw Chemical. Total damages are estimate to reach up to $50,000.
Warsaw Police are at the scene of a mishap on Argonne Road, between Winona Avenue and Hendricks. Argonne Road from Durbin to King’s Highway will be closed for an extended period of time.
According to information at the scene the driver of a semi-tractor/trailer attempted to squeeze under the viaduct, but didn’t make it, breaking the trailer in half. The semi is loaded with over 30,000 pounds.
