The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in effect from 10 p.m. today until 10 a.m. Tuesday, for Kosciusko County as well as Whitley, Allen, Huntington, Wells and Adams counties among others.
Snow is expected to overspread the area toward mid evening and continue into early Tuesday morning. Snowfall of 3 inches to 5 inches are likely. The highest amounts are expected south of US 30 and near Lake Michigan. Snowfall rates up to one-half inch per hour may occur overnight with visibilities reduced to one-half mile or less.
Roads will become snow covered, slick and hazardous and will cause travel difficulties. Motorists should be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities.
Additionally bitterly cold air will continue to spread across the area today. Light lake effect snow will gradually diminish today as system snow begins tonight.
