Syracuse Public Library news and events this week:
There are many new groups forming at the Syracuse Public Library in the new year.
Food From Fiction
Winter is a time for comfort food and how better to find some good recipes than in a mystery book. A genre of books with food and recipes has sprung up in the last ten years. In this newly formed book club our first book will be Joanne Fluke’s “Blueberry Muffin Murder.” This book is about the owner of a baker in rural Minnesota who is also quite handy at solving crimes. The club meets at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29. Library staff have picked out two recipes from the book to share. Reserve your copy of the book through evergreen and come to sample the food and talk about the book. Call (574) 457-3022 with any questions or for assistance.
String Theory
Adults that have Saturday free can come to a monthly knitting and crocheting group that is working on beginning projects. This group meets once a month and the next meeting will be from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17.
Knitting And Crocheting
At 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8 and every Thursday after, children and anyone interested in knitting or crocheting have the opportunity to come to meetings.
Young Adult Book Club
At 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, Teens are invited to the first book club meeting of the new year. Teens are invited to be the first to view new young-adult books and enjoy a food experience.
