Congressman Stutzman joined 62 of his House colleagues in urging leaders of the Appropriations Committee to prohibit funds for any executive action to grant amnesty. Below is a quote from Congressman Stutzman. A copy of the letter can be found here.
“In light of last week’s elections, it is clear the American people are demanding a return to the checks and balances granted by our Constitution. Any executive action taken by President Obama would circumvent the legislative process, set a bad precedent for future administrations, and run counter to the wishes of voters. Congress should reassert its role as the lawmaking body, continue to debate solutions for our immigration system, and block any funding that would allow President Obama to unilaterally rewrite immigration law through executive fiat.”
