UPDATE: Attempted Robbery In Leesburg

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department detectives are currently investigating the attempted robbery at Freedom Express gas station/convenience store, 201 S. Main St.

Deputies responded at 9:20 p.m. and were advised a male, possibly teenager, had entered the business and attempted to rob the cashier. The suspect was denied and fled the business.

He was last seen running eastbound on Prairie Street in Leesburg. A K-9 unit from the Winona Lake Police Department arrived and conducted a search of the immediate area, but was unable to locate the suspect. A weapon was not displayed according to officers on scene.

The suspect has been described as wearing a black, or dark blue colored hoody/hooded jacket, a black ski mask and blue latex gloves.

Surveillance footage obtained from the business and has been secured.
