Within 15 minutes of the initial call, firefighters from North Webster and the Syracuse/Turkey Creek Fire departments had a house fire at 7057 N. Hoss Hill Rd. under control.
Reporter Deb Patterson is on scene and reports the fire, which was reported at just about 4:40 p.m., was quickly brought under control, but smoke is still visible coming from the roofline.
North Webster Fire Chief Jeremy Likens said when the call came in, he initially put the Syracuse/Turkey Creek Fire Department on standby, but when he arrived and noted heavy smoke showing, coming from the eves, he called for full assist.
The fire is said to have started in the living room area of the home, but a cause is not yet known.
In addition to heavy smoke coming from the home, intense heat was found inside the house, evidence could be seen of the heat from partially melted blinds in several windows. Firefighters did a quick interior attack and were able to get the fire under control.
Firefighters from North Webster and Syracuse were rotating out doing an overhaul, checking for hot spots, due to the heat inside the home as well as temperatures outside.
