Nappanee and North Manchester were among area cities deemed among the safest places in Indiana.
Safewise.com compiled statistics from the FBI Crime Report from 2012 and did their own research to name the 50 safest cities in Indiana. Among the factors considered for cities with a population of 5,000 or more, was the number of violent crimes including aggravated assault, forcible rape, murder and robbery. Also studied were property crimes such as arson, burglary, larceny-theft and motor vehicle theft.
