The Columbia City Police Department advises the public to avoid U.S. 30 in Columbia City due to pavement resurfacing, beginning tomorrow.
The Indiana Department of Transportation has informed the city that Mill-and-Fill paving activities will be occurring on U.S. 30 within the city limits, beginning Friday, July 25. This construction will cause lane restrictions and potentially major delays on U.S. 30 from SR 205 through West Lincolnway. This includes the intersections of SR 9 and SR 109.
Motorists are encouraged to find alternative routes around the construction zone for a least the next two weeks.
Additional improvements are expected to take place after the paving, but fewer delays are expected during this time period. Drivers are cautioned to stay alert, obey all traffic signals and not block intersections.
