UPDATE: Warsaw Police have identified the people in the photo and say the report was unfounded.
The niece of the woman pictured called us and said the “infant” pictured is actually a life-like ceramic doll. The woman took the “Babies So Real” doll into the store because she didn’t want any other shoppers to think that a live infant had been left in the car. Ironically, there was a misunderstanding with an employee that led to the police involvement.
The Warsaw Police Department is seeking help from the public to identify the individuals or family in the photographs above to check on the welfare of an infant.
At approximately 9 a.m. Saturday, July 12, the subjects were in the Warsaw Super Wal-Mart and purchased what is believed to be a clip board and several yard sale signs. The individuals arrived and left in a grey or silver Chrysler 4-door vehicle. One woman is seen in the surveillance photos carrying an infant and the welfare of the infant is of interest to police.
