Yesterday, the state of Indiana’s ban on same-sex marriages was ruled unconstitutional (see related story), and the ban was lifted. Almost immediately counties throughout the Hoosier state announced they would be issuing marriage licenses to same sex couples. Kosciusko County followed suit.
Warsaw saw its first same sex marriage this afternoon, just a day after the ban was overturned. Terry Rodriguez and Nicole Wilson tied the knot at a small ceremony of family and friends at Central Park at 5 p.m. today.
The couple said they were happy that the ban was overturned, and they were able to quickly put the wedding together. The couple won’t be embarking on a honeymoon just yet, but they are exciting to be starting their life together as a legally married couple.
