Kosciusko County Treasurer Sue Ann Mitchell was elected District President of the Association of Indiana Counties Northeast District during the annual meeting in DeKalb County last month.
“I am pleased to serve as the Northeast District President of the Association of Indiana Counties,” Mitchell said. “I have been a cheerleader for the AIC for many years because I believe in the benefits membership provides to counties. I hope to continue to motivate Northeast District members to participate in AIC educational opportunities and activities. I look forward to working with the Northeast Vice President, Kay Myers, the AIC Board and all of the county officials in the Northeast District. Special thanks to Kevin Woodward and Pam Coleman who have carried the ball for the Northeast District for several years.”
As District President, Mitchell will represent the elected county officials in the Northeast District of the state, which includes the following counties: Adams, Allen, Blackford, DeKalb, Elkhart, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, and Whitley. There are six districts in the state. Mitchell will serve on the AIC’s Board of Directors, which determines policies and legislative goals for the Association.
LaGrange County Auditor Kay Myers was elected District Vice President during the meeting as well. The district meeting also included a synopsis of the 2014 Indiana General Assembly by AIC staff.
