Turkey Creek Fire Territory Board received an update on the addition and renovation at fire station one during its regular monthly meeting Thursday night.
Fire Chief Mickey Scott informed the board the fire territory is still waiting for the release of the CDR from the state so the contractor can continue with construction. The reason for the delay is a change order in November messed up the start date of the project.
The contractor can do ground level work and so walls are being built for a second floor at ground level. Once the CDR is approved, a crane will be brought in to place the walls. Scott told the board he asked the contractor to have the crane work done on a Monday when the eye doctor’s office next door isn’t open. Scott doesn’t want the crane work to interfere with the doctor’s office.
Board member Brad Jackson noted the state is being extremely slow in approving the permit.
Scott also reminded board members bi-weekly construction meetings are held Friday mornings to discuss the progress of the project and they are welcome to attend.
